Based on attachment theory, Safe Base navigates how contemporary children’s environment for attachment changes through the oeuvres of two artists(NAMELESS, Bang&Lee).
Rapid change of environment now transforms not only children's way of playing, but the entire surroundings for developing emotions and attachment.
In the past, children developed their relationship with the world through physical episodes such as tactile feelings, temperature, smells or repeated rhythms;
now, in addition to all the aforementioned factors, they grow with digital interfaces, algorithm-based media, responsive systems and artificial intelligence-driven environments.
Against this backdrop, Safe Base raises following questions in a way only an art museum could, suggesting the potential of a new environment for attachment for contemporary children.
