메트로노본(metronovon)
일본(Japan)
metronovon is a Bangkok-based digital media artist who creates AI-driven SF visuals and moving images exploring the emotional and philosophical depths of the human future. Rather than offering a utopian view of the “technology of tomorrow,” his work functions as a form of “visual poetry” that illuminates the humanity inherent behind technology. By merging cinematic imagery with intimate gestures, he constructs worlds where ancestral memories, unseen futures, and everyday rituals overlap. Exploring the posthuman aesthetic alongside the coexistence of technology and human emotion, he weaves silence and human presence into expansive cosmic imagery, asking the viewer: “How do we share our hearts with the future?”
Since earning his BA from Musashino Art University in Japan, metronovon has produced various series, including Future Prototypes, SpectraVisor, AirBrella, and AromaSculptor. His notable exhibitions and projects include Silent Futures – Ways of Being at OFF Bratislava (Slovakia, 2025), serving as the Honorary Guest Designer at the AIPEX Awards (Iran, 2025), collaborating with sculptor Michael Benisty on the AI visual project for Burning Man (USA, 2025), and the invited exhibition What We Have Touched at space55 Gallery (South Korea, 2025). He was also the Grand Prize winner at the Tokyo AI Fashion Week (2024).
Silent Futures, 2026
Silent Futures is a constellation of fragmentary scenes that capture various everyday human activities set against speculative future worlds. The work is grounded in a central premise derived from the artist’s long-held belief that “even in the distant future, the human being will remain at the axis of transformation.” Rather than imagining the future as a spectacle produced by technological progress, the work proposes a reflective space where the “future” functions as a mirror through which we may reconsider the meaning of human existence.
Through the perspective of a third-person gaze, the work turns its attention to the quiet human rituals unfolding within habitats scattered across the cosmos, depicting a process of exploring what essence allows us to remain human. Even when no human figure appears on the screen, subtle traces of human presence and actions remain. Scenes in which machines and humans share moments of communion, or shared intervals of stillness in contrast to the vast scale of the universe—these fleeting passages of silence quietly reaffirm the persistence of our humanity into the future and remind us that the essence of the human spirit remains unchanged, regardless of where we exist.
At the same time, the work presents architectures and landscapes of the future as if they were “monuments to silence”—the technologies embedded within them appear not as symbols of domination or conquest, but as quiet expressions of humanity’s boundless potential. While contemplating these imagined futures, the viewer gradually returns to the perspective of the present, encountering once again the sensation of the “here and now”—presence; and realizing that, in these scenes resembling brief glimpses into a distant future, people continue to live with quiet joy. Through this vision, Silent Futures offers a subtle intuition; that the true legacy of civilization lies in empathy, harmony, solidarity, and the ongoing exploration of the human spirit.
