CRPPP – Comprehensive Repression Prevention and Protection Programme (2023) documents a collaborative process between the artist and a woman who is both a person living with mental illness and a psychiatric care worker. Centered on conversations about the things she wishes to try, the work follows how these ideas are discussed and enacted. Within this exchange, she reflects critically on the role of the artist, describing artistic practice as operating within a “miniature garden” of society, while expressing a desire to break beyond its constraints. In response, the work does not seek to dismantle this structure entirely, but instead explores ways of inhabiting and navigating it together—observing, negotiating, and playing within its limits.
The title reframes the psychiatric program Comprehensive Violence Prevention and Protection Programme (CVPPP), which was developed to address violence and aggression in clinical settings while safeguarding the dignity and safety of both patients and healthcare workers. In this work, “violence” is replaced with “repression,” shifting the focus toward forms of psychological constraint that shape everyday experience. Through this gesture, the work considers how structures of care, control, and expression intersect, proposing a space in which repression is not simply eliminated but examined and reconfigured through collaboration.

Imagination of Killing stages a dialogue between the artist and an AI system governed by strict norms and ethical protocols. Within this exchange, the artist develops an “imagination of killing,” positioning the AI as a trusted yet regulating counterpart. The work adopts an inverted structure: the artist’s voice is rendered through a synthetic, machine-generated tone, while the AI’s responses are delivered in a human voice. This reversal produces a dissonant dynamic in which a mechanical “self” articulates transgressive thoughts, and an “AI-as-human” attempts to contain them through social and ethical reasoning.
Interwoven with this dialogue are the intermittent appearances of individuals connected to the artist: a person confessing a minor wrongdoing, a devout believer, someone who has contemplated killing, and a close companion. These figures are drawn into the expanding field of imagined violence, not through their own actions but through the artist’s projection. As the AI continues to respond with normative restraint, its language paradoxically intensifies the imaginative process, allowing it to grow increasingly self-contained and unbounded.
In this work, I engage in a dialogue that develops an imagination of “killing” with an AI that adheres strictly to norms and ethics, and which I regard as a trusted counterpart.
