독 앤 피그 (Dog & Pig), <에코 (Echoes)> (2026)
Dog & Pig, Echoes (2026)
Single-channel video / Color / Sound, 4 min 14 sec
The collective “Dog & Pig” was formed in 2023, the Year of the Water Rabbit according to the East Asian lunar calendar. The name of the collective symbolically derives from the birth years of its members.
The video work “Echoes” emerged from an attempt to condense and visualize the historical message of what Mongolians have experienced over the past century. Through this piece, we sought to create a work that can function as a documentary transmission—an artistic message carried forward into the future. The initial concept of this video originated from a spatial installation titled “Post-Imperial Syndrome.” In that installation, fragmented mirrors were used to create an abstract environment of fracture and reflection. Through these broken surfaces, viewers were invited to reconsider history as something seen through distortion, rupture, and multiple reflections. This video work brings together fragments of historical figures, the changing nature of landscapes, struggle, and continuity. It exists both as documentation and as a question—an exploration of how memory, identity, and historical consciousness intersect and evolve over time.
