Content
Observation_Watching’ can be a method by circumstances, environments and purposes given over the objective or neutral conditions that we normally are aware of, and as a result, ‘Collect_Gathering’ happens to be connected to the next action of life the ‘Arrangement_Assembling’ that constructs the reality. is created with three memory theatres by artists Miju Lee, Hyunjung Lim, Jinkyung Choeng who produce own perception processes through serial actions and implements. Mijoo Lee, Hyunjeong Lim and Jinkyung Cheong lead the viewers to look into the world over the consciousness mind instead of representing traditional methods of the watching actions such as drawing, painting. They represent images of co-existence of human, animal, nature and artificial on each own ways to reassemble as illogic, vision, dream, and illustrative imaginations. The exhibition is organised as three spaces of Nine-dimensional theatre, Theatre of mind, and Dot Dot Dot theatre, presented with flat works, installations, and film works, and the viewers reconstruct the phenomena which the artists had watched, collected and reassembled with the method of observation on each own ways. Miju Lee_Nine dimensional theatre The artist Miju Lee tries to visualise the images of dream in reality with the wills to draw out the nine-dimension. It is guided to look into a hole like a puzzle by placing pieces of dream inside of the three rooms those are placed as a triangle shape. The space which is not abled to be looked at once, reminds us the theory of elephant that we imagine the whole elephant by touching only the parts of it such as a paw, a trunk, or a tail. Hyunjeong Lim_Theatre of Mind The artist Hyunjeong Lim composed the screen to meet the world with fairy elements and of primitive unconsciousness mind those are built of circular images which are only existed inside our minds. The images of the artist’s experiences and layers of memories from certain places which seem they are thoughtlessly and randomly chosen, lead the spectators to unfamiliar experiences. The artist arranges the images in uncertain orders to understand the meanings, guides the spectators to use imaginations, reconstruct and re-analyse on their own ways. Jinkyung Cheong_Dot Dot Dot Theatre The artist Jinkyung Cheong visualises collected contexts from the interaction with others_groups by the interventions of the artist’s own. Those images are piled up by many layers and compose anonymous network. The ordinary images are gathered and spread like they are creating a map of a new world by the method of project mapping, and face the others(spectators). It becomes a mechanism which produces another anonymous network. These three memory theatres which are collected and assembled to be constructed, imagine as nine dimension, look through the depth of iceberg with heart and achieve common map of memories. This questions what and how to construct our daily by experiencing the method of observing, collecting and reconstructing.
